Lear Mobile Sales App

When Lear’s sales group needed a way to bring their entire product line to client meetings I looked at mobile technology to help solve their problem. To add to the challenge, when you need to condense an entire line of products into one small package, it becomes as much an exercise in user experience as it does visual design.

Background

Lear is a global automotive technology leader in Seating and E-Systems with an extensive and diverse line of products.

 
 

Challenge

Lear’s sales team struggled with showcasing their full line of products at off-site and client meetings. They needed a more powerful way to transport their portfolio of products.

Discovery Information

  • Products were too large and plentiful to transport

  • Sales team were taking manual notes to capture all of the important information

  • Information was too large to send via email after their meetings

  • The company website didn’t have enough information to use as a presentation tool

  • Most meetings were held in facilities that didn’t have connectivity

  • Presentations were starting at the company level

  • Each person had their own way of presenting the information

 
 

Approach

A full line of product photography, video, and specifications with sharing and communication
features all within a tablet app.


 

Additional Exploration

Additional exploration went into the idea of adapting the app for use on phones as well as the expanding the functionality behind user accounts for a more customized experience for each sales person on the team.
